| How we started...
Our kennel's history goes back to 1979 when I bought our first Wire Fox Terriers
(used to free our poultry farm from foxes and other vermin). But my passion for breeding animals
goes back to my youth, when I was a Canary bird breeder, years later with caws and poultry farming.
Little by little we entered in the fascinating world of dog showing with our Terriers.
In 1983 we bought our first West Highland White Terrier, our foundation bitch
Ch Bella Carlota of Clantartan and in 1986 our first Scottish Terrier, Ch Trewen Gemma.
New breeds were added, Beagle, Cairn...
We made champions in all these breeds and we learned a lot from all of them,
but we finally concentrated our efforts in Westies and Scottish.
Since we had very few westies in the country at that time, we had nobody to learn from and it was not easy to achieve a good trimming and presentation level at the shows.
Exhibitors from other countries used to come to Spain for an easy win.
What could we do?
We had to work hard, travel long distances to shows where we could meet strong competition
and little by little we learned from top competitors.
Nowadays, you can find in Spain one of the highest levels of
quality and presentation in the world of Westies and Scottish.. The coveted title
of Spanish Champion means strong competition and prestige in Europe.
We are proud of our contribution to this change by promoting the breed in the world
wide top shows . Our dogs or dogs bred by us obtained 17 World Championship
titles, 4 European titles and over 170 other National and International Championship
titles in 29 different countries and 71 B.I.S. in 8 different countries.
From here I want to encourage anyone who wants to enter in this fascinating world.
